It looks like the Arizona Diamondbacks and catcher Miguel Montero have a date Tuesday morning.
A court date, that is.
According to MLB Trade Rumors, Montero and the D-backs have been unable to come to terms on a salary for the catcher.
Montero is supposedly asking for $6.8 million and the D-backs have offered him $5.4 million.
Montero’s agent contests that Montero deserves a salary on par with Mike Napoli and Yadier Molina because of the amount of playing time Montero had last season and the salaries of comparable catchers.
Last season, Montero batted .282 with 18 home runs and 86 RBI.
If the D-backs and Montero don’t reach an agreement, he will be a free agent after the 2012 season.
