It’s no secret the Arizona Diamondbacks have failed to meet the lofty expectations that preceded them before the season.
But despite a year filled with ups and downs, the D-backs managed to stay within striking distance of a postseason berth — that is until now.
“I am pretty confident in saying the Diamondbacks are not going to the playoffs this year,” ESPN MLB Insider Tim Kurkjian told Arizona Sports 620’s Burns and Gambo Thursday.
The D-backs recent stretch of games, including a current six-game losing streak, certainly plays a pivotal role in team’s slide out of contention. Arizona is now 9 1/2 games out of first place in the NL West and 7 1/2 behind in the Wild Card race.
