Dansby Swanson's $6.5 mil bonus ties sixth-highest in @MLBDraft history. Only Cole, Stasburg, Starling, Bryant, Rodon got more. Tied Taillon

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound shortstop out of Vanderbilt signed just before Friday’s 2 p.m. deadline, which would have seen him return to college for his senior season had he not signed.
He hit .335 with a .423 on-base percentage, .623 slugging percentage, 15 home runs and 64 RBI in 71 games this season for the Commodores. He was named as one of four finalists for the 2015 Golden Spikes Award, given to college baseball’s best player.
Vanderbilt made it to the 2015 College World Series finals in 2015 after winning the 2014 national championship, falling to Virginia in three games.
Officially a part of the @Dbacks! Blessed to be in this position. Thanks to everyone who helped along the way! Happy to pursue a dream! 🐍🐍🐍

Swanson is the second No. 1 overall pick in D-backs history, joining Justin Upton.
