The Arizona Diamondbacks made a couple of roster moves on Friday ahead of their series opener against the San Diego Padres.

The D-backs announced they have reinstated right-handed pitcher Matt Peacock from the bereavement list.

In a corresponding move, the Diamondbacks optioned right-handed pitcher Humberto Castellanos to Triple-A Reno.

Peacock was placed on the bereavement list on Monday, which is used for players who have suffered a death or a serious illness in their family.

In 15 appearances for the D-backs in his rookie season, the right-hander has a 5.28 ERA to go along with a 1.511 WHIP and 30 strikeouts over 44.1 innings pitched.

And since being promoted to starter on May 12, Peacock has gone 1-5 in seven starts.

Castellanos was called up from the Aces on Monday in place of Peacock.

The 23-year-old right-hander has a 3.24 ERA and a 1.080 WHIP in five games this season while striking out eight over 8.1 innings of work.

He did not make an appearance for the Diamondbacks in his short stint with Arizona while Peacock was on the bereavement list.

The D-backs look to snap an MLB-record 23-game road losing streak against the Padres in San Diego.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. Catch all the action on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
