“We’re gonna run the picket fence at ’em! Jimmy, you’re solo right! Everett, Merle should be open on the other side of that fence! Now, boys, don’t get caught watchin’ the paint dry!”
It’s hard to believe it’s been almost 30 years since filmgoers heard Dennis Hopper tell a group of high school basketball players those famous instructions.
The movie was “Hoosiers,” and it was based on Milan High School’s historic upset win in the Indiana state championships in 1954.
To celebrate the 30-year anniversary of the release, Indiana’s NBA team, the Pacers, will don the uniforms worn by the fictional Hickory High School in the movie on a few dates in the 2015-16 season.

It’s very cool, but we’re not sure how head coach Norman Dale would feel about George Hill’s bleached hair and tattoos.
But then again, as long as the Pacers pass the ball at least four times on every possession, he’d probably be OK with it.
It’s an honor to break this news: @Pacers going Hollywood next season! #HickoryPacers #HoosiersMovie pic.twitter.com/OSugBTvcm9
