The Arizona Cardinals have worked out wide receiver Josh Doctson, according to the league’s transaction wire.

Doctson, 28, was drafted No. 22 overall by the Washington Redskins in the 2016 NFL Draft. In his rookie year, Doctson dealt with Achilles issues before recording 35 catches for 602 yards and six touchdowns in 2017.

The next year, he caught a career-high 44 passes for 532 yards and two touchdowns.

Before the 2019 season, the Redskins declined the fifth-year option on Doctson’s contract and then later waived him. Less than a week later, he signed a one-year deal with the Minnesota Vikings. But Doctson was placed on injured reserve in training camp and was active for only two weeks in November before being released.

Doctson signed a one-year deal with the New York Jets in February of 2020, but with the COVID-19 pandemic getting underway, he opted out of playing in August. He was then released by the Jets in May.

Doctson has worked out with a few different teams since being cut, including the New York Giants and Chicago Bears.

Arizona is in a position to give Doctson a look in preseason play.

The Cardinals currently have top wide receivers A.J. Green and DeAndre Hopkins dealing with what head coach Kliff Kingsbury has described as “minor” issues, while Andy Isabella remains in COVID-19 protocol and JoJo Ward was released on Monday.
