ESPN: Cardinals QB duo at bottom of NFL

The saying is a team with two quarterbacks really doesn’t have one, and many believe that’s the case with the Arizona Cardinals.
Because while they’ve had a QB battle all training camp between Kevin Kolb and John Skelton, it’s fair to say neither has truly emerged as a great option.
According to John Clayton in his NFL starting QB rankings, Arizona’s duo ranks 28th of 32.
Ouch.
They are ahead of Tennesee’s Jake Locker, Mimai’s Ryan Tannehill and Cleveland’s Brandon Weeden and Jacksonville’s Blaine Gabbert, so there’s that.
But they trail Seattle’s Matt Flynn/Russell Wilson combo and Minnesota’s Christian Ponder, so yeah, not good.
Neither quarterback has done much to win the starting job. That’s not an insult to Skelton, who is considered a developmental quarterback. It is an insult for Kolb, who is paid more than $10 million a year.
Clayton says Arizona’s QB arrow is pointing down, and unless one of the two really steps up over the next few weeks and establishes himself as a quality starter, we may very well see their ranking slip a bit.
