The Arizona Cardinals have reportedly placed wide receiver A.J. Green and tight end Demetrius Harris on the reserve/COVID-19 list, per ESPN’s Field Yates and NFL insider Aaron Wilson.
Both Yates and Wilson added that both Green and Harris had tested positive for the virus.
The duo are among a number of NFL players who have been placed on the COVID-19 list Wednesday, including Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who played against Arizona on Thursday Night Football in Week 8. Rodgers is reportedly unvaccinated and will miss his team’s Week 9 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Through eight games this season, Green has reeled in 29 of his 43 targets for 456 yards and three touchdowns as the team’s second option opposite wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.
Harris has seen most of his work as a special teamer this season, playing 47% of the unit’s snaps (98). He’s seen three targets and 124 snaps on offense (23%).
The Cardinals have dealt with a handful of COVID-19 cases over the past month, including head coach Kliff Kingsbury, who was forced out of Week 7’s contest against the Cleveland Browns after testing positive.
Defensive lineman Corey Peters was the most recent Cardinal activated off the COVID-19 list last Friday after a rash of positive cases plagued the team. He was back at practice Wednesday.
The Cardinals take on the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday at 2:25 p.m. Tune to 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station for all the action.
