The Waste Management Phoenix Open is right around the corner.

The 2022 edition of the tournament tees off Feb. 7-13 at TPC Scottsdale and is expected to see more fans enter the gates after limiting attendance to 5,000 per day due to COVID-19 concerns last year.

Returning to the Valley once more is former Arizona State Sun Devil and the No. 1 ranked golfer in the world Jon Rahm, who along with Justin Thomas were among the first committed to playing in the event this year.

This will mark Rahm’s sixth appearance at the Phoenix Open and Thomas’ eighth.

The duo represent two of the 132 golfers playing in the event, which also includes Bubba Watson, Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler.

A total of six players of the current field rank in the top 10 of Official World Golf Rankings.

“Last year we had one of the strongest fields we have ever had in tournament history, and we look to continue that trend in 2022,” tournament chairman Dr. Michael Golding said in a press release.
