Coyotes call up Prosvetov; Wedgewood day-to-day with upper-body injury

The Arizona Coyotes on Tuesday announced that they have recalled goaltender Ivan Prosvetov from the Tucson Roadrunners, the club’s AHL affiliate.
The move comes after head coach Andre Tourigny told reporters that it looked like goalie Scott Wedgewood took a puck to the chest during practice on Monday.
He has officially been listed as day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
Wedgewood did not travel with the team to Vancouver ahead of the Coyotes’ matchup with the Canucks on Tuesday, according to Craig Morgan.

Tourigny told reporters Tuesday that Karel Vejmelka will start between the pipes in Vancouver, but did not announce who would be the starting goaltender on Wednesday when Arizona caps off the second of a back-to-back on the road against the Seattle Kraken.
The 29-year-old Wedgewood is 5-9-2 with a 3.23 goals against average and a .903 save percentage for Arizona this season.
Prosvetov, who was drafted by the Coyotes in the fourth round (No. 114 overall) in the 2018 NHL Draft, has only made five appearances for Arizona in his career.
In two starts for the Coyotes this season, the 22-year-old Russian has an 0-1-1 record, while posting a 3.84 goals against average and .893 save percentage.
However, the two games Prosvetov started in this year were on the road against two of the league’s best in the Colorado Avalanche and Tampa Bay Lightning.
The Coyotes face off against the Canucks at 8 p.m. on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
