Sportsbooks have the Arizona Diamondbacks getting out of the darkest corner of the MLB basement in 2022 after hitting rock bottom last season with a league-worst 52-110 mark.

But not by much.

Ahead of the team’s Opening Day matchup against the San Diego Padres, the D-backs’ over/under for regular season wins sits at 66.5 on both Fan Duel and Bet Online.

Draft Kings has Arizona a game better with an over/under set at 67.5.

In all three sportsbooks, the D-backs hold the third-worst odds ahead of only the Pittsburgh Pirates and Baltimore Orioles. Either way, the projections are a double-digit improvement from last season.

Starting the season with number of key contributors on the mend hasn’t done Arizona many favors in the win-total department. Third baseman Josh Rojas, shortstop Nick Ahmed and outfielder Jordan Luplow begin the year on the 10-day injured list, while starting pitcher Zac Gallen dealt with injury issues during spring training and won’t take the mound until next Tuesday’s matchup against the Houston Astros.

Gallen and Madison Bumgarner were the two D-backs pitchers up for the Opening Day start, with the latter getting the nod.

The D-backs and the Padres get underway Wednesday night at 6:40 p.m. Tune to 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station for full coverage of Opening Day at Chase Field.
