ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS

A look at D-backs vs. Dodgers since infamous 2013 brawl

Sep 8, 2014, 1:21 AM | Updated: 1:21 am

The Arizona Diamondbacks wrapped up their season-long series with the Los Angeles Dodgers, going 4-15 in 19 games against their National League West rival.

The D-backs’ woes against the division-leading Dodgers this season began, of course, in another hemisphere — in Sydney, Australia, where they kicked off the 2014 Major League Baseball season with a pair of games at the Sydney Cricket Ground. They lost both, perpetuating their struggles of a season ago.

Those struggles seem to date back to the team’s infamous brawl with the Dodgers, which came on June 11, 2013.

Here’s a by-the-numbers look at how both teams have fared since the incident:

.433

The D-backs have gone 104-136 since the scrum, good for a 43.3 win percentage.

.596

The Dodgers have gone 145-98 since the scrum, good for a 59.6 win percentage.

4

The D-backs won just four of their final 11 games against the Dodgers in 2013.

7

On June 11, 2013, the D-backs were seven games above .500, at 36-29. They are 32 games below .500 in a season and a half since.

8

The Dodgers were eight games below .500 the day they swapped blows with the D-backs. They are an amazing 47 games above .500 since then.

30

The D-backs and Dodgers have played each other 30 times since the 2013 brawl. Arizona is 8-22 in those games.

118

The D-backs have scored 118 runs against the Dodgers in 30 matchups since the brawl.

162

The Dodgers have scored 162 runs against the D-backs in 30 matchups since the brawl.
