The Arizona Diamondbacks are celebrating Mother’s Day this weekend at Chase Field.

The D-backs host the Colorado Rockies for a three-game series from Friday-Sunday, and there will be two special giveaways for moms visiting the park.

On Saturday, the first 5,000 mothers will be given a gray D-backs cap with a rose gold logo.

On Mother’s Day, the D-backs are giving out clear crossbody bags to the first 1,000 moms.

Moms and children will be able to run the bases following Sunday’s action.

“Baseball is a family sport,” D-backs president & CEO Derrick Hall said in a press release Tuesday.

“We are proud to honor the critical role moms, stepmoms, grandmas and other maternal figures play in our families and our lives.”

The series kicks off a nine-game homestand and begins Friday at 6:40 p.m. with Merrill Kelly on the mound. Kelly is 2-1 with a 1.27 ERA. He’s struck out a team high 26 batters.

Saturday’s game is set for 5:10 p.m., with first pitch for Sunday slated for 1:10 p.m.

The D-backs have won seven of nine games entering the weekend and sport a 13-13 record.

Arizona is off Thursday before resuming play against the Rockies on Friday night. You can catch that matchup on ESPN 620 AM or 98.7 FM HD-2.
