Cardinals claim LB Jessie Lemonier off waivers, release DL LaRon Stokes

The Arizona Cardinals announced on Tuesday that they have claimed linebacker Jessie Lemonier off waivers from the Detroit Lions and released defensive lineman LaRon Stokes.
Lemonier played seven games with the Lions last season and recorded 15 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
The 2020 undrafted rookie free agent from Liberty recorded 135 tackles, 20.5 sacks, 29 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery in two years in college.
Lemonier is known for getting to the quarterback. He will join a romm with the likes of Isaiah Simmons, Zaven Collins, Markus Golden.
He appeared in six games with the Los Angeles Chargers as a rookie and just seven with the Lions. Lemonier was waived on Monday by Detroit.
Stokes is a 6-foot-4, 275-pound defensive lineman who played for three seasons at Oklahoma.
He totaled 33 tackles, 8.5 of which were for losses, in college. He was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Year in 2019 but battled injuries for most of 2020.
