Back-to-back jacks define D-backs win in extra innings

In the fifth inning, it looked like the story of Friday night’s game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Houston Astros was going to be two big home runs.

Well that turned out to be true, but just not the pair of homers originally thought.

The Diamondbacks led this one 1-0 until the fifth when  Jason Castro and Carlos Correa went yard to go up 4-1.

But the D-backs had two home runs in their back pocket that got them the 6-4 win at Minute Maid Park.

“I can’t describe it, I feel really good. Just looking for your pitch, in your location and don’t miss it.” catcher Welington Castillo said after his tenth inning home run in tandem with  third baseman Jake Lamb’s bomb that gave the Diamondbacks the win.

“It was nice to get that ball in the air and let it fly a little bit,” Lamb said. “I’m starting to feel good at the plate so it was nice to get that one.”

The two runs came after Peralta tied up the game in the seventh inning, scoring Cliff Pennington. Yasmany Tomas drove in two and Lamb drove in another earlier in the night.

The game went into extras, but it was over quickly, thanks to the two home runs and three quick outs from Brad Ziegler, his 18th save.
