Dansby looking forward to facing former team

As a member of the Arizona Cardinals, Karlos Dansby developed the reputation of being one of the NFL’s most elite playmakers. In his first six NFL seasons with the team, Dansby had 10 fumble recoveries and 11 interceptions, including one against Ben Roethlisberger in a Super Bowl loss to Pittsburgh.

This production was enough to earn Dansby a five-year, $43 million contract from the Miami Dolphins at the start of free agency in 2010.

This Sunday Dansby will return to Glendale for the first time since the 2010 playoffs, as the Dolphins pay the Cardinals a visit for their Week 4 matchup.

“I’m excited to get this opportunity to get to the stadium and see it from a different side,” Dansby told Arizona Sports 620’s Doug and Wolf. “The last game there was magical. It was definitely a moment I never let go.”

In his last game in at University of Phoenix Stadium, Dansby scooped up an Aaron Rodgers fumble and raced 17 yards for the winning score in overtime. His touchdown secured the Cardinals 51-45 victory over the Green Bay Packers in the first round of the 2010 NFL playoffs.

Dansby went on to say that he has nothing but love for his former team and he’s been looking forward to this game all season.

“I definitely had [this game] circled and the guys on the [Cardinals] that are there now definitely let me know, once the schedule came out that ‘we got this game circled too so we’re waiting you,'” said Dansby. “So, I’ve got to get my mind right and go out there and be ready to play some football.”

When asked if anything stood out to him after watching the Cardinals on film, Dansby said it was the poise the team showed under pressure and the lack of mistakes made on offense.

“Their defense creates a lot of turnovers and puts their offense in position to put points on the board,” said Dansby. “They’ve been hitting on all cylinders. The quarterback is getting the ball out of his hands fast and getting Fitz involved early and they’re running the ball well.”

But as for players he’s look forward to hitting once the game starts, Dansby just chuckled but didn’t give a name.

“I’m geared up for them and that’s all I can say,” said Dansby.
