Coyotes face more talented team in Blackhawks

Apr 9, 2012, 9:11 PM | Updated: 11:18 pm

The Phoenix Coyotes won the Pacific Division, tallying 42
victories and 97 points throughout the course of the
season.

The third seed in the Western Conference playoff picture,
they are matched up with the Chicago Blackhawks, won 45
games and earned 101 points.

They also won the Stanley Cup just two years ago, so
really, who is the better team in this first round series?

“We don’t match up on a pure talent base with Chicago,”
Coyotes GM Don Maloney told Arizona Sports 620’s Burns and
Gambo, “however we do match up on a work ethic and a
discipline and a gameplan, coaching.

“And our goaltending is second to none right now, the way
[goaltender Mike Smith] has been.”
