The Arizona Cardinals downgraded kicker Matt Prater from questionable to out Sunday ahead of their game against the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium.
Prater was limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday before missing Friday with a hip/illness designation.
He did not travel with the rest of the team on Saturday, and the Cardinals prepared for his absence.
Kicker Tristan Vizcaino signed with Arizona on Saturday as a backup option.
Vizcaino, a Southern California native, is set to be the fourth kicker to start a game for Arizona this season after Prater, Matt Ammendola and Rodrigo Blankenship.
The 26-year-old has not kicked in a game this season but played in six contests last year for the Los Angeles Chargers. He went 6-for-7 on field goals with a long of 46 yards.
Vizcaino spent time with the New England Patriots’ practice squad this season.
Prater missed Weeks 5-7 this year. The 38-year-old is a perfect 8-for-8 on field goals.
The Cardinals and Rams play Sunday at 2:25 p.m. on Arizona Sports 98.7, the Arizona Sports app and ArizonaSports.com.
