Cardinals’ Robbie Anderson, Ledbetter exit loss to Falcons due to injuries

Jan 1, 2023, 12:48 PM | Updated: Jan 2, 2023, 11:50 am

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Robbie Anderson and defensive lineman Jonathan Ledbetter exited Sunday’s 20-19 loss to the Atlanta Falcons due to injuries.

The wideout is dealing with a back injury, while the defensive lineman sustained a knee injury, the team announced.

Anderson recorded a catch for 13 yards and the lineman registered three tackles and a QB hit before exiting.

The wide receiver is the latest Cardinals pass catcher sidelined due to injury recently.

Arizona’s No. 1 receiving option DeAndre Hopkins was a surprise addition to the injury report this week after leaving practice Friday with a knee injury. He was later ruled out on Saturday.

The Cardinals defensive line has dealt with injury, too.

Lineman Zach Allen, who is second on the team in sacks (5.5) and passes defensed (eight), is missing his third-straight game due to a hand issue that ended up requiring surgery.

With Anderson sidelined, Pharoh Cooper and Andre Baccellia are in line for added snaps.

In terms of the Cardinals defensive line, Michael Dogbe and Manny Jones will pick up more reps.

Anderson and Ledbetter weren’t the only ones dealing with injury issues on Sunday, either.

In addition to the pair, Isaiah Simmons, who is largely taking over for Budda Baker at safety, and Zaven Collins were also dinged up over the course of the matchup. Both Simmons and Collins returned to action, however.
