The Arizona Cardinals elevated linebacker Markus Bailey and defensive lineman Ben Stille to the active roster from the practice squad ahead of their Week 7 Monday Night Football matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers, the team announced Monday.
Bailey, 27, was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the seventh round (215th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. He signed a one-year contract with the Cardinals in May before he was released in August and signed to the practice squad.
With Cardinals inside linebacker Kyzir White questionable with a knee injury, Bailey could line up at inside linebacker on Monday.
The former Bengal played in 60 games for Cincinnati and made four starts over four seasons. Last season, he played in all 17 games for the Bengals and tallied 10 tackles.
Stille adds depth to the Cardinals’ defensive line after Bilal Nichols was placed on Injured Reserve last Tuesday. The Cardinals are also without defensive linemen Justin Jones and Darius Robinson. Both Jones and Nichols are out for the year.
Stille, 26, went undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Nebraska. The former Cornhusker has played in 15 games for four different teams (Miami Dolphins, Cleveland Browns, Cardinals and Tampa Bay Buccaneers). Last season, he played in five games for the Cardinals.
The Cardinals waived Stille on Aug. 27 before he was re-signed to the practice squad. The Buccaneers signed him on Sept. 6, and he played in three games for Tampa Bay this season before being waived.
