The Arizona Diamondbacks made a trade Wednesday, bringing in right-handed pitcher Cody Hall from the San Francisco Giants. In return, the D-backs will give up either a player to be named later or cash considerations.

Hall, 28, was in Triple-A Sacramento for most of last season before getting a September call-up. He made seven appearances out of the bullpen.

Hall has spent five seasons in the minor leagues. He was drafted in the 19th round in the 2011 draft.

In a move related to the trade, the D-backs designated right-handed pitcher Matt Stites for assignment.

Stites, 25, made 11 appearances out of the bullpen last season for the D-backs, finishing with a 12.46 ERA.
