It’s finally here. It’s what we’ve all been waiting for all year.

It’s National Donut Day.

MLB.com listed the top donut-based ballpark foods and allowed the fans to vote on which was the best. The fans gave the nod to the Diamondbacks’ “Churro Dog” as the top dog.

For those of you who have yet to indulge in the 1,117-calorie dog, we’re sure your dentist still loves you.

The Churro Dog is a combination of two different dessert options. The warm cinnamon churro is placed in the middle of a Long John chocolate donut and is then topped off with three scoops of frozen yogurt with chocolate and caramel sauce drizzle.

The Churro Dog beat out the second-place St. Louis Cardinals’ “Dinger’s Donuts,” which are fresh donuts straight out of the fryer and put in a Cardinals batting helmet (for a low price of $50!).

You can also get 12 mini Dinger’s Donuts in a food tray for $14. The donuts are then topped with your choice of chocolate, maple or vanilla glaze. Other toppings include chopped nuts, cinnamon sugar or sprinkles.

In third-place, you get one of the best trifectas known to mankind: chicken, donuts and a skewer. We all know everything tastes better on a skewer. This perfect combination can be found at Globe Life Park in Arlington, TX, home of the Rangers.

The Pittsburgh Pirates take the No. 4 spot with their rendition of a breakfast sandwich.

The “Brunch Burger” consists of egg, bacon and a burger patty, but rather than being on a bagel or on toast, it’s on… you guessed it, a donut! The glazed donut is also covered with Pirates-colored sprinkles solely for the reason that no one doesn’t like sprinkles.

Rounding out the top-five is the “Donut Bacon Cheeseburger,” made famous by the San Francisco Giants’ Triple-A affiliate Sacramento River Cats.

This “sandwich” is the only one in the top-five that utilizes two separate donuts. A 1/3-pound patty with melted cheddar cheese and bacon are placed in between the donut-buns.
