Local bowls have definite OK flavor

The pairings for this year’s bowl season were announced on
Sunday, and it’s a safe bet that many folks with Oklahoma
driver’s licenses will be making their way to the Valley
of the Sun in late December and early January.

That’s because both the Oklahoma Sooners and Oklahoma
State Cowboys have been selected to play in bowl games in
the Valley.

Head coach Bob Stoops’ Oklahoma Sooners will battle
the Iowa Hawkeyes
(7-5) in this year’s Insight Bowl, which will be played
December 30th at Sun Devil Stadium. Oklahoma won last
year’s Fiesta Bowl in Glendale by beating Connecticut on
New Year’s
Day. Iowa is returning to the site where they won the
Insight Bowl last season by defeating Missouri.
