Nearly half of Phoenix’s TV viewers tuned in to watch the Arizona Cardinals defeat the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

The local broadcast of the Cardinals’ Week 3 game drew a rating of 25.7 with an audience of 476,000 Valley households, according to the NFL and The Nielsen Company. The ratings are a 20 percent increase over the Week 3 matchup of 2013, the second-highest increase in the NFL.

Arizona’s game telecasts are the most-watched programs in the Phoenix market.

The Cardinals’ 2014 season has averaged a 25.2 rating with an audience of 467,000 local households. Those numbers represent a 12 percent increase from 2013, also the second-highest in the NFL.

Arizona’s next game is on Oct. 5 in Denver against the Broncos.
