Arizona Cardinals: Offense would not change much if Logan Thomas starts at QB

TEMPE, Ariz. — A couple of weeks ago, ahead of the Arizona Cardinals’ visit to Denver, cornerback Patrick Peterson answered a question about the difference in the team’s start this season (3-0) with the one it had in 2012 (4-0), because, as we all know, things went very, very south from there a couple years ago.

“Hell, we played with five different quarterbacks, and this league is predicated off quarterback play,” he said. “And when you can’t get solid play with a quarterback, it’s going to be pretty hard winning ball games. We started off 4-0, and after Kevin Kolb got hurt, that’s when it all went downhill from there.

“So now I believe we have at least two quarterbacks that can sustain this offense, that understand this offense. If you don’t turn over the ball when you have backup quarterbacks and play good defense, you have a pretty good opportunity to win the ball game.”

Jinx?

The team has already used three different quarterbacks this season.

The team’s starter, Carson Palmer, has been out since Week 1 while dealing with a nerve injury in his right shoulder, and once backup Drew Stanton suffered a concussion in the third quarter of the last Sunday’s loss, the reins were handed over to rookie Logan Thomas.
