A new week, a new look for Arizona State football. At home against Texas State on Saturday, the Sun Devils will be donned in all maroon with copper-colored helmets that feature white pitchforks.

The uniforms will showcase gold numbers and a gold “Arizona State” across the front, while even the players’ gloves will be decked out in maroon.

Week 3 at Mountain America Stadium will mark the second time this young 2025 season ASU (1-1) shows off its pitchfork, having done so in maroon for its sold-out home opener against Northern Arizona.

The opposing Bobcats (2-0) will be in all white to contrast the Sun Devils, with maroon lettering outlined in dark gold.

ASU defeated Texas State last September 31-28 at UFCU Stadium, and will need to limit explosive plays to repeat the same outcome after a major defensive breakdown in the fourth quarter at Mississippi State last week.

Catch ASU-Texas State on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. MST on the Arizona Sports app, ESPN 620 AM or 98.7 FM HD-2. It will be televised on TNT.

Can someone explain to me the fascination with helmets and uniforms? It seems pretty recent and I think it's just about the dumbest thing imaginable. Who cares what they're wearing??

I'm always scratching my head when the Devils do this stuff, and the opposing team has a similar color scheme. They did a Maroon Monsoon with USC, they've done "black outs" with schools that have black as a primary color, and sometimes during the middle of hot October day-? Every time one turns on the TV and see Penn State or Alabama, they instantly know who they are; consistency of the brand. Trying to keep-up with Oregon seems kind of lame. One road look, one home look, Sparky on the helmet, and (maybe) one alternate look for a special game, done. Either way, I hope they take care of business on the field, and not in the arena of fashion.
