Arizona’s Gabe York named Pac-12 Player of the Week

Arizona Wildcats guard Gabe York was named the Pac-12 men’s basketball Player of the Week on Monday.

York, a senior, averaged 25.5 points in home wins over California and Stanford. He made 17-of-28 shots and 12-of-20 threes in the two games.

He hit a game-winning three in the final minute against the Bears on Thursday and a couple days later made nine 3-point shots against the Cardinal en route to a career-high 32 points.

This is the first Player of the Week Award in York’s career and the third earned by a Wildcat this season (Allonzo Trier, Ryan Anderson).

York is second on the Wildcats in scoring, averaging 15 points per game. Arizona finished the regular season 24-7 with a 12-6 mark in the Pac-12. The fourth seed in the Pac-12 Tournament, they will face either Colorado or Washington State Thursday in Las Vegas.
