Cardinals extend qualifying offers to restricted free agents

The Arizona Cardinals announced that the team has tendered one-year qualifying contract offers to a trio of restricted free agents.

The team offered one-year deals to receiver Jaron Brown along with safeties Tony Jefferson and D.J. Swearinger. Should any of the three sign a contract with a new team, the Cardinals will have the right to match the offer.

The Cardinals also extended offers to exclusive rights free agent defensive tackle Josh Mauro and tight end Ifeanyi Momah.

Last season, Brown caught 11 passes for 144 yards with one touchdown while also contributing five tackles on special teams.

Jefferson finished fourth on the team with 75 total tackles. He also notched two sacks and three forced fumbles while intercepting two passes.

Swearinger signed with the Cardinals late in the season, and he finished with eight total tackles, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

Mauro battled injuries but played well when on the field, finishing with 22 total tackles, one sack, one pass defensed, two forced fumbles, 10 QB pressures and two QB hits.

Momah missed the season due to a torn ACL.
