To say projecting who the Arizona Cardinals will select with their first round pick this year is a difficult task is a bit of an understatement.

Such is life when 19 picks are set to be made before you are on the clock.

However, that does not mean we won’t do our best in trying to peg the player Steve Keim and Bruce Arians will tab as they enter their second season in charge of the team.

So with that, welcome to the 2014 Arizona Cardinals draft stock tracker.

Rank Player Reason
#1

Ryan Shazier, LB
If the Cardinals want to make a really good defense even better, Shazier may be the guy. Will he be there for them?
Rank Player Reason
#2

Blake Bortles, QB
Conventional wisdom says the Cardinals wouldn’t “waste” their top pick on someone who won’t help this year, but they may view the UCF product as the QB of the future and too good to pass up at 20. ESPN’s Ron Jaworski wouldn’t be surprised if he was the pick.
Rank Player Reason
#3
Dee Ford, DE

The Auburn product may be the best defensive end on the board when the Cardinals are on the clock.

Rank Player Reason
#4
Kony Ealy, DE
A pass rusher who is likely to be around when the Cardinals are on the clock.
Rank Player Reason
#5
Calvin Pryor, S
Steve Keim and Bruce Arians talked about the need for big, fast safeties. Pryor fits the bill.
Rank Player Reason
#6

Darqueze Dennard, CB
The Cardinals may want him, but it’s sounding more and more like the defensive back won’t be around when they’re on the clock.
Rank Player Reason
#7

Anthony Barr, LB
He won’t be there when the Cardinals are on the clock. He will be there when the Cardinals are on the clock. The UCLA linebacker’s stock is all over the place, but it’s tough to deny his talent.
Rank Player Reason
#8

C.J. Mosley, LB
The Cardinals are thin at inside linebacker. Mosley would help to rectify that problem.
Rank Player Reason
#9

Bradley Roby, CB
Dennard is considered to be the top corner, but if he’s gone and that’s the position Arizona wants to fill, this may be the guy.
Rank Player Reason
#10

Taylor Lewan, OT
Would the Cardinals really go offensive line in back-to-back years?
Rank Player Reason
#11

David Carr, QB
If the Cardinals really want to go QB and Bortles is gone, Carr may be the pick.
Rank Player Reason
#12

Eric Ebron, TE
It seems less and less likely that the Cardinals would go for the tight end.
