From a no-hitter to the desert?

There have been three pitchers who have thrown no-hitters in the major leagues this season, and ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick said the Arizona Diamondbacks could be interested in acquiring one of them:

If the D-backs to agree to a deal for Hamels, it would require his approval.

Hamels, 31, is coming off of a no-hitter in his last start, an effort in which he struck out 13 batters against the Chicago Cubs Saturday.

He is 6-7 with a 3.64 ERA in 20 starts this season.

The left-handed pitcher is under contract through 2018 after he agreed to a seven-year, $159 million deal in 2011.

The three-time All-Star won a World Series ring with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2008, winning the World Series MVP Award.
