Arizona Coyotes release adidas ADIZERO uniform sets

The NHL released the full 31-team set of adidas ADIZERO jerseys, marking the official switch from former outfitter Reebok on Tuesday night.

adidas said its jerseys are lighter, cooler and stronger than the former Reebok versions.

“We are very pleased with the new look and feel of the adidas jerseys,” said Coyotes general manager John Chayka in a release. “adidas worked with us to respectfully preserve the Coyotes’ current uniform identity when moving to the new ADIZERO technology platform. We look forward to seeing our players wear these jerseys in September.”

New cresting material reduces the weight by as much as 46 percent while the numbering material is 60 percent lighter than the old uniforms. Overall, the jersey is 19 percent lighter than the Reebok versions.

The jerseys implement adidas’ Clima technology that allows 133 percent more air flow, and the fabrics are 27 percent stronger in “burst testing” and 72 percent improved when it comes to “abrasion testing.”

“We’re excited for the fans and players to see the innovation and performance features that adidas put into creating the new jerseys,” said Brian Jennings, NHL chief brand officer and executive vice president. “To play at their highest levels, the game’s greatest players require the best technology and design available, and these adidas jerseys set a new benchmark for performance gear.”
