The Suns are getting their big man back.
Phoenix has recalled Alan Williams from the Northern Arizona Suns, the team announced Friday.
Williams was assigned to Northern Arizona Thursday for a rehab assignment and participated in a practice with the team before getting the call to head back to Phoenix.
The third-year big man underwent meniscus repair surgery on his right knee on Sept. 25 and has practiced five-on-five with the NBA team twice.
After going undrafted in 2015, Williams earned a spot on the Suns’ roster to end the 2015-16 season before playing in 47 games last year. He averaged 7.4 points and 6.2 rebounds in 15.1 minutes per game while shooting 51.7 percent from the floor.
Williams is expected to make his season debut next week. Until then, he is scheduled to play with the NAZ Suns next Wednesday before he is re-evaluated, according to 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station’s Craig Grialou.
