Wade Miley: One thing that has gone right for D-backs this year

Throughout all the ups and downs this season has had to
offer the Diamondbacks — OK, mostly downs — one positive
has emerged:
Wade Miley.
The rookie left-hander entered the rotation April 23rd in
place of the injured Daniel Hudson, has been a breath of
fresh air for a team that has seen its pitchers struggle
out of the gates this year.
And, according to ESPN.com, he’s the front
runner for the NL Rookie of the Year award.
Says the worldwide leader:
The D-backs have been one of the season’s biggest
disappointments, and just imagine where they’d be without
Miley, who is 5-1 with a 2.14 ERA.
Everyone knew the Diamondbacks had an embarrassment of
riches when it comes to pitching depth, with top prospects
in the minor leagues ready to slide into an already solid
big league rotation.
But of all the names people talked about, Wade Miley’s
rarely — if ever — came up.
They’re talking about him now, though, and it appears his
future is as bright as anyone’s.
