The Arizona Diamondbacks have called up infielder Andy Marte and and outfielder Roger Kieschnick from Triple-A Reno to replace Martin Prado and Gerardo Parra.
Marte, who was hitting .330 with 13 home runs and 62 RBI in 102 games this season with Reno, will appear in his first major league stint with the D-backs. The 30-year-old has played in six major league seasons with the Atlanta Braves (2005) and Cleveland Indians (2006-10), hitting .218 with 20 home runs and 96 RBI in 302 career major league games.
As for Kieschnick, this will be his third stint with the D-backs this season. The 27-year-old is hitting .207 with one home run and two RBI in 19 games for the D-backs in 2014. In Reno this season, the Texas Tech product was hitting .268 with 11 home runs and 34 RBI.
