Three Arizona Diamondbacks pitchers were re-assigned as the team continues shaping its roster before Opening Day next Thursday.

Veteran right-hander Dan Straily was re-assigned to minor-league camp, while righty Matt Peacock and lefty Kyle Nelson were sent to Triple-A Reno.

Straily, 33, is of note having 156 starts in MLB across eight seasons, though he hasn’t held such a role since 2019 with the Miami Marlins.

He joined Arizona on a minor-league deal and in three spring games (one start) struggled by allowing nine earned runs and four homers over 9.1 frames. He struck out 12 to go with three walks.

Peacock, 28, appeared in 35 games and started eight a season ago for the D-backs, his first in the majors. He went 5-7 with a 4.90 ERA and 1.56 WHIP.

In spring, Peacock allowed one solo homer in 3.0 frames with four strikeouts and one walk.

The 25-year-old Nelson has 11 games of MLB experience, all with Cleveland. He performed well in five Cactus League games, allowing three hits, no runs while striking out six.
