Coyotes ink No. 11 overall pick Conor Geekie to 3-year entry-level deal

The Arizona Coyotes put pen to paper with one of their first-round draft picks on Monday.
The team announced that it has reached an agreement with forward Conor Geekie on a three-year entry-level contract.
Geekie was selected by the Coyotes No. 11 overall in the 2022 NHL Draft earlier this month after Arizona traded up with San Jose Sharks to draft the forward.
“We are very pleased to sign Conor to an entry-level contract,” Coyotes general manager Bill Armstrong said in a press release. “He is a big, skilled, two-way center with good vision and a strong hockey IQ. We look forward to watching his development.”

The 6-foot-4, 205-pound forward registered 70 points on 24 goals and 46 assists to go along with 49 penalty minutes in 63 regular-season games for the Winnipeg ICE of the WHL last season.
Geekie also posted 3-8-11 and 14 PIM with a plus-3 rating in 15 playoff games for Winnipeg.
Prior to being draft eligible during the 2020-21 campaign, Geekie ranked second among all WHL rookies in points with 23 on nine goals and 14 assists.
In his three seasons in the WHL (2019-22), the 18-year-old Geekie totaled 93 points on 33 goals and 60 assists in addition to 71 penalty minutes.
Geekie was also ranked fifth by Central Scouting among North American skaters.
