Larry Foote decided his job title will change for the first time in his NFL career.

After spending the last 13 seasons as an NFL linebacker, Foote chose to retire, thus beginning the 2015 season as the Arizona Cardinals’ inside linebacker coach, according to ESPN’s Josh Weinfuss.

Foote, 35, never fully committed to becoming a coach this summer but decided against returning for his 14th season as a player on Tuesday at 1 p.m. MST, the deadline for the Cardinals to make their first roster cuts.

After spending 11 seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers and one with the Detroit Lions, Foote joined Arizona in 2014 and recorded 84 tackles, two sacks and one interception. Foote got turned on to joining the Cardinals’ coaching staff after talking with head coach Bruce Arians in an exit interview following the season.

Foote finishes his NFL career with two Super Bowl rings — both with the Steelers — along with 788 tackles, 25 sacks, four interceptions and 10 forced fumbles.
