The Arizona Cardinals will not be back on the practice field until Tuesday, but that does not mean they are not using their off week to try and get better.

Or at least, they are spending a little time seeing what kind of talent is available should the need arise.

Bullock, formerly of the Houston Texans, was released after appearing in just three games this season. He made five of six field goal attempts and three of five extra points. He was one of the better kickers in the league in 2014, though, converting on 30-of-35 field goal attempts and all 40 of his PATs.

The 35-year-old Cundiff has kicked for six different teams, most recently the Buffalo Bills. He appeared in one game for the team this season, but did not attempt a kick. Last season, with the Cleveland Browns, he made 22-of-29 field goals and all 28 of his extra points.

The Cardinals are not working out kickers because they have a need there, as second-year pro Chandler Catanzaro has followed up an impressive rookie campaign by making eight of his first 13 field goals and 30 of 32 extra points this season. They are more or less seeing what kind of talent is out there in case something should happen, kind of covering their bases just in case.

The same goes for Fields, who was with the Miami Dolphins last year and punted in two games for the New Orleans Saints this season, and Lanning, who was with the Browns last season before appearing in one game for the Chicago Bears this year.

Arizona’s current punter, 26-year-old Drew Butler, is averaging 41 yards per kick, with a long of 55 and a net average of 34.5 yards. He has placed 10 punts inside the 20.
