SI eliminates Arizona Cardinals from MLB playoff contention

The Arizona Cardinals’ season-opening loss to the New England Patriots certainly was disappointing in these parts.
But even considering the Pats were without stars Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski, losing in Week 1 against a well-coached team at home isn’t time to proclaim the Cardinals a dumpster fire.
However, the operators of Sports Illustrated’s tweet machine thought such a loss means doom for the Cardinals’ season — that is, their MLB season. The @SINowLive Twitter account posted a story link with a message that mistook the Arizona football-playing Cardinals for the St. Louis baseball-playing team with the same name.
The NFL version of the Cardinals, in response, hit Sports Illustrated with a zinger.
