D-backs’ Goldschmidt surprises students, teacher, with visit

The Arizona Diamondbacks and star first baseman Paul Goldschmidt helped celebrate National Teachers Day by paying a visit to Edison Elementary School in Phoenix to honor second grade teacher Mrs. LaToya Jones, who was named as one of this month’s most valuable teachers.
Needless to say, everyone was excited for Goldschmidt’s visit.
Goldschmidt did not come empty-handed, however, as he also gave Jones a check for $1,000 to be used for her classroom.
