After a stint with the Arizona Diamondbacks, infielder Adam Rosales reportedly signed a minor-league deal with Philadelphia, according to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale.

The deal will pay Rosales $1.75 million if he makes the major league roster.

The 34-year-old Rosales was acquired at the trade deadline last season in exchange for minor league pitcher Jeferson Mejia. Rosales hit .202/.227/.369 with three home runs and drove in nine runs in 34 games.

Known as a utility player, Rosales is capable of playing all over the infield and made starts at both corner and middle infield positions. A versatile defender, he brings a veteran presence to one of the younger rosters in the MLB and has the potential to make spot-starts in the Phillies’ infield.
