Marlins give star rookie best surprise of his career

I bet a sentimental moment involving embattled Miami Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria wasn’t something you expected to see today.
But that’s exactly what you get in this video of Marlins star rookie pitcher Jose Fernandez being reunited with his grandmother, who he hadn’t seen since defecting from Cuba more than five years ago.
The Marlins set up in interview with Fernandez — presumably under the guise of showing it during games as in-stadium entertainment — and asked him about the role his grandma has played in his life. The Marlins couldn’t have asked for it to play out better.
Fernandez says “Everything I do is for her,” and after the interviewer asks what he would say to his grandmother if she were there, he says “I don’t think she would be here.”
Then grandma enters, Fernandez is speechless, and viewer tears are shed.
