Alex Ovechkin is one of the NHL’s biggest stars.

But that doesn’t mean he has no time for sushi.

As told by the New England Sports Network, Ovechkin took part in a charity event where he met 10-year-old Ann Schaab, who has Down syndrome. During the event, she asked Ovechkin to have sushi with her and her family.

Less than a month later, he took her up on the offer. And besides sushi, he also gave her a personalized jersey (which was later autographed by many players), roses, and brought her to watch the team’s pregame warmups from the bench.

“It was great to see a smile on her face,” Ovechkin said. “She is a terrific and funny kid. She seemed to have a lot of fun, and I was very pleased to spend some time with her.”
