After missing last week’s game, Arizona Wildcats quarterback Khalil Tate came out with a bang Saturday night.

Against No. 19 Oregon, the quarterback threw for three touchdowns as Arizona upset the Oregon Ducks 44-15.

His presence was surely felt right away in the first half.

With less than a minute off the board in the first quarter, Tate struck first for the Wildcats. Dropping back to pass, he found a wide open Shawn Poindexter for the 22-yard score.

In his first action since missing time with an ankle injury, Tate opened up the game completing three of his four passes for 48 yards and the score.

At the half, the quarterback completed 13-of-24 for 146 yards and touchdown.

In the second half, Tate continued to go to work.

Just like in the first half, it wouldn’t take long for Tate to get his team on the board.

With 10:30 left to go in the third quarter, Tate found one of his favorite targets of the night in Poindexter for the eight-yard score, extending the lead to 30-8. Behind Tate, Arizona marched 96 yards on seven plays for the touchdown. Poindexter has 30 yards and two scores on two receptions.

Instead of taking his foot off the gas pedal, Tate struck again late in the quarter. He connected with wide receiver Shun Brown for the 27-yard score. Brown has been busy for Arizona as he leads all Wildcats receivers in receptions (10) and yards (96).

Tate completed 19 of his 33 passes for 189 yards, three touchdowns and an interception as the Wildcats cruised to a 44-15 win over the Ducks. He also rushed for 11 yards on six carries.
