Newly signed Arizona Cardinals safety D.J. Swearinger was ruled inactive for the Cardinals final game of the season against the Seattle Seahawks.

Swearinger was a highly-touted waiver pick up by the Cardinals on Tuesday, after being cut by the Washington Redskins for criticizing defensive coordinator Greg Manusky’s play calling.

The Cardinals were able to claim the safety by having the first rights in the waiver order, which brought back Swearinger back to the desert for his second stint in Arizona.

Swearinger will finish the 2018 season with four interceptions, three forced fumbles and 53 tackles in 15 starts with the Redskins.

Two defensive lineman who were listed as questionable for Arizona on the final injury report. Markus Golden (ankle) and Benson Mayowa (back/neck), were also ruled inactive for the Cardinals.

Ricky Seals-Jones (shoulder) was ruled out of the game on Friday on the team’s final injury report.

Other inactive Cardinals included guard Zack Golditch, wide receiver J.J. Nelson, and wide receiver Jalen Tolliver.

For the Seahawks, seven players were ruled out allowing for an extra week of rest to recuperate before the playoffs.

Not listed on the inactive list was running back Rashaad Penny who dealt with a knee injury throughout the week and was listed as questionable on Friday. He will be available along with running backs Chris Carson and Mike Davis who have led the Seahawks to 2,378 rushing yards as a team this season.

Guard J.R. Sweezy (foot) and defensive end Dion Jordan (knee) were both ruled inactive for the Seahawks along with linebacker Emmanuel Ellerbee, defensive end Rasheem Green, defensive back Kalen Reed, running back Bo Scarbrough and safety Tedric Thompson (ankle).
