The MLB trade deadline is approaching, and several Arizona Diamondbacks names are floating around the market.

Zack Greinke, Robbie Ray, Archie Bradley, and others have had their names mentioned in rumors over the past days and weeks.

Jarrod Dyson’s name, along with Adam Jones’, has also been mentioned. And on Tuesday’s Doug & Wolf show on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station, USA Today Sports MLB columnist Bob Nightengale not only confirmed that but said he thinks the former will be traded.

“I would say Jarrod Dyson being a free agent,” Nightengale said of other D-backs aside from Greinke and Ray that could be moved. “There’s too many teams that need an outfielder, at least a fourth outfielder. He could do so many little things for you. Not that you’d get a big return at all; it’d be a small return.

“But I think Dyson will definitely be gone.”

Dyson is batting .251/.336/.358 this season in 85 games. Despite the lesser impact at the plate, Dyson has been a key to the D-backs in the outfield, making highlight-reel catches all season.

Nightengale also mentioned that relief pitcher Andrew Chafin is another name that could generate interest before Wednesday’s deadline.

“I think Andrew Chafin could be gone. I think a high price tag, but I could see Chafin gone,” he said.

In 50 appearances this season, Chafin has a 4.21 ERA and 107 ERA+. He is averaging 11.1 strikeouts per nine innings.
