In early August, MLB Pipeline named the Arizona Diamondbacks the second-most improved farm system in baseball.

In September, Baseball America named 30 minor league baseball all-stars for the 2019 season and five D-backs prospects were awarded spots on either the first- or second-team rosters.

Three of the five have already seen time on the D-backs big league roster, while the other two have slugged successfully in Double-A.

Kevin Cron, Zac Gallen and Josh Rojas are all on the major league roster after successful campaigns in the minors earlier this season.

Bouncing between the Reno Aces and D-backs, Cron led the minor leagues with 38 homers in 2019. His power was on display in Arizona as he launched a 453-foot bomb against the Rangers in July, the second-longest home run hit by a D-back this season.

Gallen posted a 9-1 record with a 1.77 ERA and 0.71 WHIP in Triple-A with the Marlins organization before being traded and immediately plugging into the D-backs rotation. He’s started eight games for Arizona going 2-3 with a 2.89 ERA and 1.26 WHIP.

Like Gallen, Rojas was acquired at the trade deadline after mashing in the Triple-A level. He slashed .332/.418/.606 in both the Astros and D-backs organizations before appearing in 30 games for Arizona.

Catcher Daulton Varsho and first baseman Seth Beer haven’t climbed up to the major league level but they were both named to the Baseball America first team after spending the season in Double-A.

Varsho nearly joined the 20/20 club with 18 homers and 21 steals while also hitting for a .301 batting average.

Beer recorded 103 RBIs while smacking 26 home runs this season, climbing the ladder from High-A to Double-A and bouncing between three different minor league teams.
