The Arizona Cardinals have elevated punter Ryan Winslow from the practice squad to the 53-man roster Saturday afternoon.
In addition, the team announced the release of tight end Darrell Daniels.
With Andy Lee on the mend with a right hip flexor, the move seemingly puts the starting punter’s availability in doubt. Lee, in his third season with the team, has played a total of 35 games as a Cardinal. He is currently listed as questionable.
Winslow, 25, was signed to the practice squad on Tuesday after spending the preseason with Arizona. During that time, Winslow recorded 14 punts for 656 yards.
The punter entered the league with the Chicago Bears last season as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Pittsburgh. At Pittsburgh, Winslow was named as an All-ACC first-team selection in 2017 after averaging 44.5 yards on 57 punts. He was later released by the Bears following training camp.
Winslow also spent time with the Alliance of American Football’s Memphis Express.
According to the team, Winslow will wear No. 9.
This season, Daniels has played in one game for the Cardinals. He did not register a catch.
