Bowl projections: Arizona State favored for Holiday Bowl against Iowa

As the college football season begins to wind down, the bowl projections are just heating up.
Despite a roller coaster season from Arizona State, they continue to hang in the projections for decent bowl games. According to CBS Sports and 247 Sports, ASU is projected to play Iowa in the Holiday Bowl in San Diego on Dec. 27.
Alternatively, Bleacher Report says the Sun Devils could meet up with the Badgers of Wisconsin.
Previously, experts have picked ASU to play in the Redbox Bowl or the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl, which ESPN says the Sun Devils will play against Virginia.
Arizona is home to three bowl games—the Fiesta Bowl, Cheez-It Bowl and Arizona Bowl.
The Fiesta Bowl on Dec. 28 in Glendale will see the No. 2 and No. 3 ranked teams from the final ranking of the year. As of this week, No. 2 Ohio State and No. 3 Clemson would be headed to the Valley. The winner will face the champion of the Peach Bowl in the College Football Championship game in New Orleans on Jan. 13.
The Cheez-It Bowl likely has Iowa State as a lock. Former Perry high school quarterback Brock Purdy would have the chance to come and play in front of his hometown once again. Other team names in the mix include Washington State, Oregon State, Wyoming, TCU, Oklahoma State and San Diego State.
For the NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl in Tucson on Dec. 31, the bowl game has no definitive locks from national experts.
Both ESPN analysts believe Utah State could wind up in the bowl game. CBS Sports projects that Fresno State and UL Lafayette would make the trip to Tucson while Bleacher Report sees Wyoming and Arkansas State in that game.
