The NFL has announced its punishments for those involved in the brawl that took place on Thursday Night Football.

Cleveland Browns edge rusher Myles Garrett will be suspended indefinitely without pay for a minimum of the rest of the 2019 season, plus playoffs if the Browns make it, for using Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph’s helmet as a weapon against him.

Garrett must meet with the commissioner’s office before he can be reinstated. He was also fined an unannounced amount.

According to NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero, Rudolph will be fined by the NFL for his role.

But the quarterback won’t be taking legal action against Garrett, as Rudolph sees the incident as exclusively an NFL matter, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Steelers offensive linemen Maurkice Pouncey and Larry Ogunjobi were suspended as well.

Pouncey will miss three games and was fined.

Ogunjobi was suspended one game and fined.

The Steelers’ and Browns’ organizations were each fined $250,000.

In the closing seconds of the game on Thursday, Garrett took down Rudolph as he threw the ball. Garrett held on for a bit longer than usual and Rudolph tried to fight him off.

In doing so, the quarterback ripped at Garrett’s helmet, prompting the Brown to grab at Rudolph’s face mask and take his helmet off.

As the fighting ensued, Garrett took Rudolph’s helmet and clubbed him over the head with it.

Pouncey and Ogunjobi then took down Garrett. Pouncey continued to kick him while he was down.

These two teams will play each other in just a couple of weeks on Dec. 1, but Garrett and Pouncey will not be on the field.
